Dit jaar vindt het GOGBOT festival plaats van 9 t/m 12 september. Vier dagen lang staan de exposities, performances, presentaties en debatten volledig in het teken van de post-truth society.
De term post-truth is een filosofisch en politiek idee waarin de gedeelde objectieve standaarden van de waarheid verdwijnen en men schippert tussen feiten, alternatieve feiten, kennis, mening, geloof en waarheid. Het GOGBOT festival gaat in op de tendens dat het maatschappelijk debat ineen dreigt te storten onder invloed van fake news. Zo bevraagt het festival de transformatie van onze informatievoorzieningen ten tijde van synthetische media, deepfakes, de opkomst van complottheorieën en meer. Er komen vragen aan bod als: Wat is een post-truth society? Waar komt het vandaan? Op welke manier zorgen we ervoor dat het onze maatschappij niet opsplitst?
Het GOGBOT festival is een meerdaags festival rondom multimedia, kunst, muziek en technologie. Sinds 2004 transformeert het festival ieder jaar het centrum van Enschede tot een futuristische audiovisuele happening! GOGBOT’s missie is om een inspirerend platform te bieden voor de meest originele, de meest visionaire en meest avant-gardistische artiesten van dit moment. Het festival onderzoekt de nieuwste technologische ontwikkelingen en roept op tot reflectie, debat en een kritische houding ten opzichte van onze leefomgeving. GOGBOT wordt georganiseerd door PLANETART. Tetem is een van de festivallocaties met de tentoonstellingen Eclipse en SprintExpo Yours Truthfully en twee events, de VR Talk van Ali Eslami in Eclipse en Hybrid Spaces, in aansluiting op het expositieprogramma. This year the GOGBOT festival will take place from September 9th to 12th. These four days will be full of exhibitions, performances, presentations and debates that are entirely devoted to the post-truth society.
The term post-truth is a philosophical and political concept in which the shared objective standards of truth disappear and one has to navigate between facts, alternative facts, knowledge, opinion, belief and truth. The GOGBOT festival addresses the tendency that the social debate is threatened to collapse under the influence of fake news. For example, the festival questions the transformation of our information tools in the age of synthetic media, deepfakes, the rise of conspiracy theories and more: What is a post-truth society? Where does it come from? How do we ensure that it does not divide our society?
GOGBOT is a multi-day festival of art, multimedia, music and technology. Every year since 2004, the festival has transformed the center of Enschede into a futuristic, audiovisual happening! GOGBOT’s mission is to provide an inspiring platform for the most original, the most visionary and the most avant-garde artists of today. The festival examines the latest technological developments and calls for reflection, debate and a critical attitude towards our living environment. GOGBOT is organized by PLANETART. Tetem is one of the festival locations with the exhibition Eclipse, SprintExpo Yours Truthfully and two events, the VR Talk van Ali Eslami in Eclipse and Hybrid Spaces, in connection with the exhibition program.
