English De Holistic Technology Salon is een co-creatie van V2_Lab for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam, Annika Kappner, Ginervra Petrozzi en Sieta van Horck (V2_). Zij organiseren een reeks ontmoetingen waarin ze samen met de deelnemers verschillende soorten kennis en ervaringen gebruiken om nieuwe, holistische manieren van samenzijn met technologie te ontwikkelen. Directe ervaringen en verschillende soorten kennis -geworteld in lichamelijke en mystieke praktijken – worden ingezet om nieuwe eco- en zorgperspectieven te ontwikkelen en deze te integreren in onze relatie met hedendaagse en toekomstige technologieën.
De bus die de deelnemers van Rotterdam naar Enschede brengt functioneert als een reizende cocon. Deelnemers onderzoeken samen met het Salon- team de wensen die wij hebben ten aanzien van hedendaagse en toekomstige technologieën. Dit gebeurt door middel van belichaming, visualisatie, multisensoriële en verbale uitwisseling.
In Tetem brengen deelnemers een bezoek aan de tentoonstelling LIQUID DREAMS en verzorgen Evelyn Wan en Annika Kappner een Talk. De tentoonstelling LIQUID DREAMS van Annika Kappner nodigt uit om een holistische reis te maken, waarbij we de ontmoetingspunten van menselijke en minerale intelligentie onderzoeken en speculeren over onze gedeelde geschiedenis. De meeslepende ervaring presenteert een kritisch en poëtisch perspectief op de rol van technologie en heeft als doel de manier waarop we onze omgeving via onze zintuigen waarnemen te dekoloniseren en te emanciperen.
Evelyn Wan, Assistant Professor in Media, Arts and Society aan de Universiteit Utrecht, vertelt over haar onderzoek naar de historische en hedendaagse relaties tussen technologie en spiritualiteit in verschillende culturen. Kunstenaar Annika Kappner deelt inzichten over haar multimodale onderzoekspraktijk waarin zij wil bijdragen aan de opheffing van de natuur-cultuur binomiaal.
The Holistic Technology Salon is a co-creation of V2_Lab for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam, Annika Kappner, Ginervra Petrozzi and Sieta van Horck (V2_) and an invitation to co-create alternative futures through multidimensional conversations. In a series of community encounters they will use different types of knowledge – rooted in corporeal and mystical practices – to weave new, holistic ways of being with technology. In a participatory setting they will explore how to integrate eco- and care-centric perspectives into our relationship with contemporary and future technologies through direct experience.
The touring bus bringing the participants from Rotterdam to Enschede will become a traveling cocoon. Using embodied communicative and relational practices, participants and HTS team will enter into a dialogue with our devices, exploring how we relate to them as self-organizing entities that we so intimately share our world with.
At Tetem, participants will visit the exhibition LIQUID DREAMS by Annika Kappner that invites us to embark on a holistic journey, exploring the meeting points of human and mineral intelligence and speculaing on their shared history. The immersive experience presents a critical and poetic perspective on the role of technology and aims to decolonise and emancipate the way we perceive our surroundings through our senses.
After visiting the exhibition, Evelyn Wan, Assistant Professor in Media, Arts, and Society at Utrecht University will share her research on the historic and contemporary relations between technology and spirituality across different cultures. Artist Annika Kappner will share insights on her multimodal research practice that seeks to contribute to the dissolution of the nature-culture binomial, followed by a Q&A session with the HTS team and Evelyn.
